Joseph De Vito, president and CEO of The Village Bank, has announced the hiring of Jennifer Cruz as assistant vice president/fraud officer.
Cruz joins the Bank after working as the financial crimes unit operations manager at Rockland Trust. She previously was vice president of fraud prevention for East Boston Savings Bank, where she worked for 11 years. She also was an assistant branch manager for Danversbank.
Cruz graduated from Salem High School and attended Salem State University, where she received a degree in criminal justice. The Peabody resident also earned her certified fraud examiner credential through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
In this newly created role, Cruz will be responsible for the effective oversight of The Village Bank’s fraud prevention program and fraud personnel.
