Joseph A. De Vito, president & CEO of The Village Bank, announced that the Auburndale Community Charitable Foundation is now accepting college scholarship applications from local high school seniors.
Seventeen college-bound students from the Class of 2024 will receive scholarships totaling $50,000. Recipients can use the funds for tuition, room and board, or supplies at any accredited college or university. The deadline for submitting the scholarship application is April 1, 2024.
The Foundation will award two $10,000 scholarships and fifteen $2,000 scholarships. Recipients of the $10,000 scholarship must have demonstrated active involvement in community and/or charitable causes in a leadership capacity, as well as academic achievement. Eligible Newton, Wayland or Waltham residents will be considered for both award categories. Applicants who do not reside in Newton, Wayland or Waltham will be considered for the $2,000 award.
“The Village Bank takes pride in helping individuals accomplish their goals — especially students who share our commitment to the community and initiatives that benefit our friends and neighbors,” said De Vito. “We are thrilled to recognize students in the community as they prepare for the next chapter of their life.”
